When Life Gives You Lemons...
There is a saying: When life gives you lemons make lemonade. Well, my juicer is broken! Let me clarify, I don't actually take this saying to heart and crank out lemonade every time something bad happens. The proverbial thought of lemonade, however, makes me cringe. Life has been dumping lemons on my head for almost 4 years now. I've made everything I can out of them: Lemonade, Lemon Shake-Ups, Lemon Heads, Lemon Meringue Pie, Lemon Grass, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons... Ugh! Okay, I got it out!
Since I don't have time to go through the last 4 years I will just tell the basics. My husband, Jon, and I have been in the process of adoption for over a year and a half now. We originally started our adoption journey with Vietnam. They shut down. So, in March we switched to Domestic Adoption with the same agency. For the last two weeks I have tried to get on our agency's website. I just kept getting a page that said: Forbidden, you do not have access to this site. I just thought maybe they were experiencing difficulties, and I gave it a couple of weeks to settle out. It didn't. So today I sent an E-Mail to our case worker asking if they had any updates and what was going on with the website, I went to work, even though I have had sinus issues for the past couple of days. I worked a few hours and decided to go home after lunch because I felt horrible. Checking my e-mail was a top priority as soon as I walked in the door, but my case manager had not sent anything. I did have an E-Mail from someone at the main office. I read, and read, and read. Then I found out through E-Mail that our agency is shutting down. And, the way it read we should have known this before now. But, we didn't. So, I called our case manager and asked what was going on. She could not offer me much more information than what I had already read. I called my husband, told him what was going on, and he said he would call them when he got home. I tend to tune out things when it is something bad like that. I listen and reply, but my mind drifts somewhere else.
I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade... And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.

This made me laugh! I felt it was an appropriate quote for the occasion.
